Opening Week For Lyons Track & Field

The 2015 season officially opened with the RE-1J  District Meet held at Longmont’s Everly-Montgomery Field on March 10. Senior Tullef Rudlong ran well in the sprints with third place finishes in both the 100M and 200M, respectively running 11.64 and 24.13. In the 1600M run, the Lyons’ distance crew accumulated points with Paul Roberts (Jr.) taking first in 4:30.92, Matt Dillon (Sr.) fourth in 4:45.94, and Joel Such (Jr.) sixth in 4:48.9. Senior Ryan Smith placed second in the high jump with a personal record match of 5’10” and finished fourth in the 300M hurdles with 44.18. In the pole vault, junior Owen George placed second with eleven feet, while fellow juniors Cameron Cross and Mitchell Simms

Lyons Hoopsters Roll

The Lyons High School Varsity boys’ basketball team posted victories over Union Colony and Alexander Dawson School last week, improving their season record to seven wins, and six losses. The senior trio of Zach Christiansen, Shea Gilman and Justin Gorman continue to lead the team both offensively and defensively.
