Two new businesses in Hygiene will be celebrating their grand openings over the next two weekends. On Saturday, November 6, Tim Combs (former Mayor of Lyons) and Mary
Magdalena, owners of the Boulder County General Store (smack dab in the middle of downtown Hygiene) invite the public to stop in and enjoy some free food, drink, and music from 1 to 6 p.m. The charmingly renovated general store will be showcasing their local producers of healthy foods, such as: Anija’s Mustards, Boulder Ice Cream, Boulder Sausage, Chocolove, Colorado’s Best Beef, Diamond D Dairy, Denise’s Soup Kitchen, Farmer John Flour, fresh organic produce from Lone Hawk Farms and Miller Farms, as well as Ophelia’s Burritos, Red Road Buffalo, Silver Canyon Coffee, and Mary’s pies and cookies. Truly “a store for all reasons.”
Rabbit Brush Gallery (next to the Crane Hallow Café) owners Liz Durfee and Sharon Young invite everyone to meet their featured artist from 3 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 13. On hand will be Nancy Anderson of Sweetbird Jewelry, and painters Brigitte Bruggemann, Pam Furumo, and Catherine Robles Shaw. The evening’s refreshments will be provided by the Crane Hollow Café, and the evening will serve as a benefit for the Boulder Mountain Fire Relief Fund.
