Last month, over 1,800 fellow community members attended my town halls in Fort Collins and Broomfield to share their view and participate in the political process. I am amazed and inspired by the uptick in civic engagement that is emerging across the country as demonstrated in these record-breaking town halls.
I believe the silver lining of the President's tweets and statements, combined with the legitimate and serious doubts around the integrity of members of his campaign staff under investigation by the FBI and potentially the President himself, is that Americans are no longer sitting on the sidelines. Benjamin Franklin bequeathed us “a republic, if you can keep it,” and we cannot take our republic or our constitutional rights for granted. I have never seen this level of attendance or engagement, and I return to Washington, D.C., reinvigorated to fight for truth, transparency, and to defend our inclusive American values.
My next series of town halls will be later this week. I will be available in Boulder, Loveland, Nederland, and Lyons to hear from you and discuss how we can create an economy that works for all, an excellent public school system, access to affordable higher education, and an innovation-based economy that creates good-paying jobs for hard-working Colorado families. For those unable to attend my in-person meetings, I will also be hosting a telephone town hall.
As always, my team and I are here to help you navigate the federal government. Whether it's getting access to your earned social security, receiving veterans' benefits, getting a passport in time for your next trip, or coordinating with a local public housing agency, my team can support you through this often confusing and time-consuming processes.
Here is a brief list of some of the services my office can provide for you and your family: Veterans Benefits, Immigration Cases, Housing, Social Security/Medicare, and the IRS.
Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you need assistance dealing with a federal agency, or just want to let me know your thoughts and concerns about an issue that's on your mind. You can email me any time, call one of my offices, or send me a note through Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
