I have been asked lately, “Just what is a string band?” So, I thought I would, with wikipedia’s help, give you all a little description of string band music.

Irish pubs and whiskey may have been part of the humble origins of the Nashville-based band Humming House, but it was the co-producer of their debut album, Grammy award-winning Mitch Dane, who heard these musicians playing together before they were even a band.
