Easter was a glorious day, reminding us that the Lord “rose from the dead” on Easter morning; thus, as did “Our Town of Lyons, Colorado” stated Pastor Emily of the Lyons Community Church. Yes, Lyons rose from the flood, from despair, and things are looking up for most (however, not all) this Easter season. We must “hang in there” for new beginnings and have faith this Easter season.

Last week was a strange week; seventy degrees on Saturday and snowing Sunday, and nice again on Tuesday. It helps green the grass, but is scary about the run-off.

Spring is here, and Spring Break. The weather is good, the crocuses (or is it croci?) are blooming, and the town is recovering. All seem to be doing fairly well.

FAREWELL TO JULIE, SANDY, AND KIRK, dedicated Mayor and Trustees, who devoted more hours than you can think of, to you the town residents. A farewell reception was given in their honor Monday, before the regular town board meeting. It started with The Quilt store, via Barb Harrison and Laurie Test, presenting each Trustee with a lovely quilt; Town Administrator Victoria Simonsen gave accolades to each, and the big crowd enjoyed

Hi everyone! Spring has arrived. The Garden Club’s daffodils are popping up, and will be blooming soon (our thanks to that group of hard workers). They say most of the beds going east of town were washed out with the flood, and they have to start over. Send your donation to this group (P.O. Box 49) to help with their expenses.
