The Focus of Two Colorado Residents' Books

For two Boulder County authors, breast cancer made an indelible mark on each of their lives. Now, Jennifer Lynch and Cristina Trapani-Scott are each set to release books that explore their individual experiences as caregiver and survivor. Both authors will be launching their books at the Lyons Regional Library on Wednesday, February 28, at 6:30 p.m.

Jennifer Lynch’s debut book of nonfiction, F**K CANCER: A Tale of Love Pouring in from Every Angle, published by Spoke + Heart Press, explores the depths of female friendship amidst the hellish ride of breast cancer. In her book Lynch chronicles her personal journey returning home to be by her oldest friend’s side as she battled breast cancer.

5280 Magazine’s review of Lynch’s book notes that “The page-turner of a read will remind you that even the worst illness can have a healing silver lining.”

The Persistence of a Bathing Suit, is Cristina Trapani-Scott’s debut poetry chapbook published by Finishing Line Press. It navigates what she sees as the vast space between surviving cancer and learning to live with the immediate changes that come with survival.
Laura Kasischke, award-winning author of Space, in Chains writes “Cristina Trapani-Scott’s poetry is musical, visual, sensual, and full of brilliant observations and precisely-rendered moments. This is work you’ll read again and again, and want to share.”

Lynch lives in Boulder; her work has been published in elephant journal and she blogs regularly at Trapani-Scott lives in Lyons. Her poems have appeared in various anthologies and literary magazines, including the Paterson Literary Review and she blogs at
