The C and JV Lyons High School boys’ basketball teams continue to improve their skills and teamwork and played four different schools in eight days. Most players compete on both the C and JV teams. 

Lyons solidly beat Dawson School after returning from the holiday break on Friday, January 6. The C team dominated their game,

 

 

It was “Senior Night” at Lyons High School last week as the Lions hosted (17-0) Heritage Christian in the last game of regular season with the Mile High League title on the line. Seniors Maddi Maguire, Liz Jonjak, and Taylor Christiansen were celebrated for their dedication to the basketball program.

The Lyons High School varsity boys’ basketball team played a game at Longmont Christian on Friday, February 10, and a home game on Tuesday, February 14 (Senior Night). First, to the Longmont game.  Going into the game, the home town team had a record of 8 wins and 9 losses; Longmont’s record stood at 14 and 2. The Pride’s record dropped to 8 and 10 at the game’s conclusion, having lost 72 to 47. At

 

 

The JV Lyons High School boys’ basketball team had a fantastic game against Front Range Christian High School on Tuesday, February 7. The young Lions found themselves down at half-time 20 to 30, and it looked like the Falcons might fly away with the win.  However, the

 

 

Post season play begins next week, and the Lyons High School girls’ basketball squad is peaking at just the right time with two convincing wins last week as the regular season winds down.  Their record now stands at an impressive sixteen wins against only two loses on the season; besting their fifteen wins of last year.
